It pains Connor to even think it - the Brotherhood here has been nothing but understanding after his accident with the Piece of Eden sent him to this place, but it pains him still more to be away from the colonies. Near the homestead, there are at least forests man has not yet clearcut, streams he has not yet dammed up, animals he has not yet hunted to extinction. Here, there is none of that. Factories darken the skies with smoke, working families live in squalor, and only the rats and pigeons can be said to thrive.
And so today finds him on a rooftop overlooking the River Thames, lost in a melancholic state.
Perhaps that is why he does not see Evie on the next roof over.
